8 Great Small Towns in NSW

posted in Moving by

Lynns is proud to be a NSW-based removalist. We love our community, and we think this part of Australia is a great place to live. We’d love to help you plan your upcoming move. If, however, you are considering moving but still unsure about your destination, here are 8 wonderful small towns scattered throughout NSW that could be the perfect spot for your home or business. Take a look at these choices, and perhaps one of these lovely places is one you can call home.

Central Tilba

It doesn’t get much cuter than Central Tilba. Found on the South Coast inland from Narooma, this town is complete with a historic village and lush surrounding atmosphere. With a variety of quaint shops and pubs, you’ll be busy enjoying the fruits of this wonderful spot.

Mullumbimby

Just 20 minutes from popular Byron Bay, Mullumbimby calls itself ‘the biggest little town in Australia.’ Along a great scenic drive, Mullumbimby is a bit of a hippie town. This would be the ideal choice for those looking for a laid back and pleasant artsy community.

Broken Hill

Stretching into the outback, the surprisingly urban Broken Hill is known for silver mines and an abundance of pubs. It’s also the home of the School of the Air, the virtual classroom that brings education to the remote children in outback communities. Here you’ll be part of a fiercely bold town with a lot of history to soak in.

Armidale

Looking to live in a small town in NSW that receives all four seasons? Armidale may be the perfect place for you. This is a picturesque region where wilderness meets pleasant colonial architecture. A town of 20,000, Armidale is set at the start of Waterfall Way. This could be a place that offers the best of both worlds.

Crescent Head

A vintage 60s surfing lifestyle sounds fantastic, doesn’t it? Such is the way of living in Crescent Head. North of Port Macquarie, the beaches of Crescent Head sprawl attractively and create the ideal conditions for great waves. Deep sea fishing and swimming are also popular here. Relocating to Crescent Head just might reward you with your own piece of paradise.

Bowral

Museums, antiques, wineries, and attractive colonial architecture. These elements make the Southern Highlands town of Bowral a nice little gem along the NSW coast. Originally a summer retreat for wealthy Sydneysiders, Bowral still maintains some impressive historic homes. There is plenty to do in Bowral, but if you seek something new, several other quaint towns are just a few kilometres away.

Kangaroo Valley

Just two hours from Sydney is the peaceful town of Kangaroo Valley. Here, pastoral land stretches for miles, punctuated by vibrant rainforests and winding rivers. This is a nature lovers’ domain, and outdoor activities are aplenty, including canoeing, fishing, bushwalking and more. Kangaroo Valley’s population in 2011 was just over 850. We bet they would welcome a few more!

Berry

Found in the welcoming Shoalhaven, Berry is a cute town with a cute name. Filled with local eateries (including a lovely tea shop), historic buildings, and plenty to do, Berry positively oozes charm. And with a great location on NSW’s coast, for small towns it can’t be beat.
